Moulded with Purpose, Graduating to Serve OLAG Celebrates Historic 10th Graduation Ceremony

Our Lady of Grace Senior High School (OLAG), Mamponteng, marked a significant milestone on Saturday, 20 June 2026, as it held its 10th Graduation Ceremony to celebrate the successful completion of secondary education by the graduating Class of 2026. The occasion brought together students, parents, staff, alumni, and distinguished guests to honour a class that has distinguished itself through academic excellence, leadership, discipline, and service. The occasion was further graced by several dignitaries and traditional authorities, including the Mampontenhene, Nana Saasi Ayeboafo II.

Held under the theme, “Moulded with Purpose, Graduating to Serve,” the ceremony reflected the school’s enduring commitment to nurturing young men and women who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to society. The event was chaired by Brigadier General Richard K. Mensah, a distinguished military officer, while the keynote address was delivered by Mr Emmanuel Nyarko-Tetteh, who challenged the graduates to embrace lives of purpose, leadership, and service.

A major highlight of the ceremony was the series of goodwill messages and addresses delivered by key stakeholders. The Headmaster, Rev. Fr. Sylvester Frimpong, reflected on the achievements of the graduating class and encouraged them to remain ambassadors of the values and traditions of OLAG wherever they find themselves. Similar messages of encouragement were delivered by the SRC President, the PTA Chairperson, representatives of the Kwabre East Municipal Chief Executive and the Member of Parliament for the constituency, as well as the Chairman of the Board of Governors.

The ceremony also celebrated outstanding achievements among students and staff. Adabre Catherine Agamolgama of the Business Department emerged as the Best Graduating Student and Valedictorian of the Class of 2026. Wunzoya Fadina Sule and Caleb Yaw Yirenkyi were recognised as the first and second runners-up, respectively. Numerous awards were also presented to students who excelled in academics, leadership, sports, discipline, and other areas of school life.

Among the most prestigious recognitions presented was the Jim and Sharon Westby Award of Excellence, regarded as the highest honour within the OLAG community. In the teaching staff category, the award was presented to Mr Henry Okyere Nuomado, a Music teacher and Choirmaster of the school’s choir. The late Mr Elvis Appiah was posthumously honoured in the non-teaching staff category in recognition of his dedicated service to the school. In the student category, the award was presented to the outgoing Senior Prefect and SRC President, Master Francis-Pio Bouhyen Sapaat, for his exemplary leadership and contributions to the school community.

Another memorable moment of the ceremony was the administration of the Alumni Oath by Mr Akwasi Yeboah Asiamah, Organising Secretary of the OLAG Old Students Association (OLAGOSA), formally welcoming the Class of 2026 into the alumni fraternity. In a demonstration of their continued commitment to the school, members of the pioneering Class of 2016 unveiled a legacy project – a modern pickleball court – to support sports development and enhance student life on campus.

As the curtains fell on the historic ceremony, the celebration served not only as a farewell to the Class of 2026 but also as a reaffirmation of OLAG’s mission to mould young people of character, competence, and purpose. Having been equipped with the knowledge, values, and experiences gained during their years at the school, the graduates now leave prepared to serve their communities and pursue their aspirations with confidence and integrity.
