On Saturday, March 21st, 2026, Our Lady of Grace Senior High School commemorated its Annual Feast Day – aligned with the globally observed Feast of the Annunciation – with a ceremony that seamlessly integrated spiritual devotion, institutional development, and philanthropic commitment. While the occasion holds deep significance within the Catholic liturgical calendar, its observance at OLAG extended beyond religious ritual to encompass the Annual Adom Mma Endowment Fundraising and the inauguration of the Nana Kyerew Akenten II Executive Lodge. Consequently, the event emerged not merely as a celebration of faith, but as a multifaceted expression of the school’s vision for continuity and progress.
The day’s proceedings commenced with a solemn Holy Mass, presided over by the Most Rev. John Yaw Opoku Agyemang, Bishop of the Konongo-Mampong Diocese. Central to the liturgy was the commemoration of the Annunciation, a moment of profound theological importance within the Catholic tradition. The Mass was further distinguished by the confirmation of catechumens into the Catholic Church, an act that imbued the celebration with a deeply transformative and spiritual dimension. In his homily, the Bishop expounded on the significance of the Annunciation, inviting reflection on themes of obedience, faith, and divine purpose. His message resonated strongly with the congregation, fostering a renewed sense of devotion and spiritual awareness among attendees.

The celebration drew a distinguished assembly comprising members of the school board, teaching and non-teaching staff, the student body, and key institutional groups, including the choir, regimental band, media team, and cultural troupe. Their presence was complemented by that of traditional authorities, parents, business partners, and members of the Our Lady of Grace Old Students Association (OLAGOSA), whose collective participation underscored the event’s importance within both the school and the wider community.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, attention shifted to the second phase of the program: the Adom Mma Endowment Fundraising. This initiative, designed to secure the sustainability of the school’s scholarship scheme and broader developmental agenda, highlighted the institution’s commitment to equity in education and long-term growth. The session was chaired by Nana Akwasi Agyekum II, Chief of Donaso and Mawerehene of the Ejisu Traditional Council, alongside notable personalities, including Mr. Bernard Kwasi Dwomoh – Chief Executive Officer of Bentronic Agrochemicals and President of the Ashanti Tennis Association, represented by Mrs. Juliana Dwomoh, and Madam Cecilia Adoma Owusu, Chief Executive Officer of Ceci and Co Limited, represented by Miss Rebecca Darko.
The fundraising segment was executed with notable organisation and decorum. It was jointly hosted by the Chaplain, Fr. Godfred Akwesi Owusu, Madam Margaret Oforiwaa, and Miss Nicole, the Assistant Girls’ Prefect, whose coordination ensured a seamless progression of activities. The appeal itself was led by Fr. Isaac Nti Asamoah of the Konongo-Mampong Diocese, whose engagement with the audience inspired generous contributions toward the endowment fund. The atmosphere of goodwill culminated in a celebratory cultural performance by the OLAG Cultural Troupe, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Miss Daniella, Miss OLAG 2025, thereby formally acknowledging the support and participation of all stakeholders.

In a further demonstration of institutional advancement, the event proceeded with the inauguration of the Nana Kyerew Akenten II Executive Lodge – an ultra-modern guest facility situated behind the school compound. The lodge, equipped with contemporary amenities, represents a strategic addition to the school’s infrastructure. The Bishop, Most Rev. John Yaw Opoku Agyemang, officiated the commissioning and blessing of the facility, after which the Assistant Headmistress, Miss Comfort Odehe, presented a brief historical account of its development. The ceremonial ribbon-cutting marked the official opening, followed by a guided tour for dignitaries and guests, who were afforded the opportunity to experience the facility firsthand before engaging in moments of relaxation and social interaction.
Taken in its entirety, the 2026 Feast Day Celebration at Our Lady of Grace Senior High School exemplified a harmonious convergence of faith, generosity, and progress. While the Feast of the Annunciation reaffirmed the institution’s spiritual foundation, the Adom Mma Endowment Fundraising underscored its commitment to sustainability and inclusivity, and the inauguration of the Executive Lodge signaled tangible infrastructural advancement. Together, these elements coalesced into a singular narrative of collective purpose, reflecting a shared aspiration toward a future defined by excellence, unity, and enduring growth.
