Aiming to inspire and equip individuals with an itinerary of virtues and strategies, the Global Leadership Summit (GLS) returned to convene the best of visionary leaders from various sectors around the world into a common conclave. This purpose driven annual event never fails to uplift the spirit of the OLAG community and empower both individual and collective productivity alike.
On February 8th, the program began promptly at 9 AM in the school’s auditorium, initiated by an opening prayer from the school’s administrative officer, Mr. Felix Dassah Tengan, followed by a few minutes of praise and worship led by the school’s inspirational band. The atmosphere was further energized by our esteemed masters of ceremony, Mark Bonnah and Felix Dassah Tengan, who extended a warm welcome to the GLS facilitators and other distinguished guests.
Country Director Rev Philip Tutu, conducted a steady kickoff into the height of the program by addressing the audience on the theme: “A Legacy of Leadership.” His discourse encompassed essential elements such as legacy, perseverance, and preparation, guiding participants to focus on the future. A musical interlude followed, courtesy of the inspirational band, paving the way for the main message. Mike Kryzewski, an esteemed basketball coach, shared his insights on “Victory through Teamwork and Leadership.” His presentation highlighted the four secret A’s of leadership: agility, adaptability, accountability, and attitude as necessary to guarantee success in the long run.
The primary objective of the event was to foster leadership development, providing attendees with practical insights and strategies for personal and organizational growth. Onlookers gained a deeper understanding of the importance of leadership development, equipping them with tactics crucial for leading effective teams. The transformational impact of the event encouraged the audience to adopt a holistic approach to designing leadership strategies, which in turn aims to create a positive influence in society. Furthermore, it emphasized empowerment, enabling leaders at all levels to enhance their effectiveness and to influence others with integrity and purpose.
The Global Leadership Summit transcends being merely an event, it is a guide to a productive lifestyle. As students internalize the invaluable lessons learnt during the summit, they are empowered to emerge as leaders capable of creating lasting and effective changes in the lives of others.
