PROTOCOLS FOR REOPENING OF SCHOOL

Following the Presidential directive on reopening of schools, the school Management in consultation with the School Board of governors and other stakeholders have come out with the following directives as measures to help fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

Reopening of school

School reopens for all students on Monday 18th January, 2021

Reporting

All students are expected to report to school on Monday 18th January, 2021 between the hours
7:00am and 3:00pm in their nose masks.

PROTOCOLS TO BE OBSERVED ON ARRIVAL OF STUDENTS AT THE SCHOOL

The following protocols will be religiously enforced;

AT THE SCHOOL ENTRANCE

    • Hand washing protocols
    • Taking of body temperature to satisfy entry requirement.
    • Registration of qualified students.
    • Hand sanitizing exercise
    • Departure to dormitories.
    • Registration of accompanying guardian/parent (if any)

DORMITORY PROTOCOLS

    • At the respective dormitory blocks, student’s items will be disinfected before being
      allowed into their rooms.
    • Washing down/bathing follows immediately
    • Clothes worn to school are washed.
    • Arrangement of students items in the dormitory.
    • Students with respiratory challenges eg asthma to be separated to minimize the negative
      effect of disinfectant alcohol and other strong scent from others.

SANITATION MATERIALS

  • Every student is required to come along with;
  • not less than 5 re-usable nose masks
  • one bottle of 500ml antiseptics (eg dettol, camel etc.) for the school and as many as they
    deem necessary for their own use.
  • Three (3) packs of hand tissue for their own use
  • two bottles of 200ml alcohol base hand sanitizer or enough quantity that will last for the
    term.
  • one pack of toilet roll (12 pieces)
  • two (2) sachets of dresscare insecticide

DINING

  • Hand washing protocols would be observed before entry into the dining hall.
  • Students are expected to be in their nose masks at the dining hall to be taken off only
    during meals.
    Student are also expected to come along with;
  • pair of aluminum/steel flat plates
  • pair of steel bowls
  • Cutlery set
  • Two Cups /mugs
  • Dining hall bag
  • Two Napkins (cloth)
  • Hand washing protocols would be observed before entry into the dining hall.
  • Students are expected to be in their nose masks at the dining hall to be taken off only
    during meals.
    Student are also expected to come along with;
  • pair of aluminum/steel flat plates
  • pair of steel bowls
  • Cutlery set
  • Two Cups /mugs
  • Dining hall bag
  • Two Napkins (cloth)

MOBILE PHONES

No student should report to school with a mobile phone. There shall be protocols for
students to communicate with parents when the need arises

CLASSROOM PROTOCOLS

  • Observance of hand washing protocols before entry into classrooms
  • Wearing of nose masks during contact hours
  • Students with respiratory challenges eg asthma are going to be seated close to window
    openings
  • Adequate measures have been put in place at the school clinic to ensure best health
    practices.
  • Referrals will be made to the Pope John Paul II hospital at Jamasi or to the Municipal
    hospital when necessary.

Generally, to inform, educate and notify students on the Covid-19 protocols, conspicuous notices
have already been displayed at vantage points on campus.
Parents are encouraged to advice their wards to appreciate the effort made to ensure their safety
by using the PPEs available in a very discreet manner whiles observing the necessary protocols.

    practices.
  • Referrals will be made to the Pope John Paul II hospital at Jamasi or to the Municipal
    hospital when necessary.

Generally, to inform, educate and notify students on the Covid-19 protocols, conspicuous notices
have already been displayed at vantage points on campus.
Parents are encouraged to advice their wards to appreciate the effort made to ensure their safety
